Welcome to the Cabarrus Early College of Technology High School!  The following is an overview of this course which will provide you with an idea of what is expected of you and how to be successful in this course this semester.  Please read through it with your parent(s) or guardian(s). Overview:

This is a credited course in which each and every assignment is designed to install the practices of highly successful students in preparation for the challenging curriculum of the Early College Program. This semester students will learn how to present themselves in a professional setting. Students will complete a variety of assignments to prepare them for filling out job applications and mock interviews. This course is also designed to prepare for college/professional life after the Early College Program. Below, you will find an overview of the topics and assignments we will complete this semester.  Keep in mind, this is an outline of the semester.  Topics and assignments are subject to change.  The outline should be utilized as a guide to prepare for upcoming topics and assignments.

Advisory

      • Twice a month/every other week you will sign up for a virtual advisory meeting. Sign-ups must be completed the week prior to your meeting so we are both able to workaround our schedules accordingly. Link on the Canvas Homepage.
      • After the first individual meeting, you can begin to sign up for small group meetings instead. No more than 4 people per slot. This only applies to students in good academic standing.
      • RISE students will meet on a weekly basis.

Grading: Grading is based on a points system. This is a pass or fail course. This course will be on Canvas. It is your responsibility to look for announcements on the Canvas page every day. If you are ever unsure of an assignment or due date, I expect you to ask me directly and immediately. Do not rely on other students. If you have a question you may e-mail me or ask me on Microsoft Teams during my class/office hours.

Grading Scale:

A 90-100%
B 80-89%
C 70-79%
D 60-69%
F 0-59%

 

Late work: Every day an assignment is late, I reserve the right to take 5% off the assignment grade.

FAQ’s:

 “I missed an assignment. What do I do?” ------- You will ample amount of time to complete assignments. If you miss an assignment, you should contact me immediately.
