3 Spelling Sort

Our Spelling Pack this week focuses on the short u sound.  It can be spelled with a u or an o.

1. Copy all 23 words into your spelling journal- leave on your desk to have it checked

3. Pick up flash cards-  Basic, Review and Challenge words are different colors 

4. Sort your BASIC cards (Orange) by the way the short u is spelled.  Make one stack with words that spell it with an o, make a 2nd stack with words that spell it with a u.

5. Now use your cards that are in 2 stacks to complete the following questions.  Be sure 1-9 are BASIC words spelled with u, and 10-15 are BASIC words spelled with u.

**REMEMBER for this page, you can ONLY use the BASIC words ONE TIME.  As you complete this section, remove your flash cards from your stack as you use the word.  This way, you will know which words you have left to choose from.
