About this Course:

Learning Goals:

Teachers will use technology to make data more accessible, adjust instruction to better meet the needs of a diverse learner population, and reflect upon their practice through the consistent, effective use of assessment.

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  1. Integrate digitally enhanced formative and summative assessments to gather student performance data to inform instruction and personalize student learning.
  2. Utilize performance data and digital tools to collaborate with students to analyze data and guide students in the creation of a personal learning plan.
  3. Utilize a standards aligned rubric to evaluate student work samples and providing the opportunity for students receive feedback through an online forum that might include peers, community members, and/or content experts.

Instructions:

The Leadership in Digital Learning Focus Area is comprised of 3 competencies (modules): Intellectual Property & Copyright, Ethical Technology Use, Global Awareness. Participants will complete each competency (module) shown below and submit appropriate artifacts. Once an artifact has been graded and successfully completed you will receive a micro-credential. A micro-credential in the Leadership in Digital Citizenship Focus Area is equivalent to .33 CEUs; for the Novice level, you may earn 1.0 CEUs.

To move from the Novice level to the Experienced level, you will need to complete all of the tasks for each of these competencies in the Novice level. After completing each of the tasks in the Experienced level, you may move to the Mastery task. Ultimately, completing this Focus Area from Novice through Mastery, you may earn 2.0 CEUs and “stack” the micro-credentials to earn a digital badge.
(*The CEU credit identified above is a recommendation only. Each local school district will determine the amount of CEU credits to award to each participant. Based upon course completion, each participant will receive a certificate.)

Time Needed:

Each competency (module) contains an activity for the teacher.  Some modules may take more time for teachers, but on average, each module will take an hour to complete.

The buttons below identify the three competency modules that will be explored in this Focus Area. You may choose to work through these modules in any order. To complete the Experienced level, you will work through each of the four modules.
