How should food be handled to prevent foodborne illness?

    1. Personal hygiene and health
      1. Explain how personal hygiene and health can impact foodborne illness
      2. Identify which symptoms and illnesses should prevent someone from preparing food for others
      3. Describe good personal hygiene and clothing habits
      4. Describe how and when to correctly wash hands
      5. Explain situations and ways to prevent bare hand contact

 

Activity #4: Handwashing Article, Anticipation Guide & Lyrics Poster

  • Complete the agree or disagree columns of the Anticipation Guide Links to an external site. before reading the article, “The Art of Handwashing Has Yet to Be Mastered” Links to an external site.. After reading the article,  provide evidence that supports or proves the statement wrong.
  • View this TedED video, How Soap Kills the Coronavirus Links to an external site. which demonstrates proper handwashing and the science behind the process.
  • Next,  think about some of your favorite songs, keeping them school appropriate. Please note: When I open the actual song and find it to be vile, you will get a 0. If you wouldn't sing it to Dr. Poole, your Bishop, Priest or Rabbi, don't give it to Mrs. Palmer.  Choosing one song,  use the Wash Your Lyrics  Links to an external site.website to generate a handwashing poster infographic to your favorite song with lyrics included.
  • Save and share poster with me to lisa.palmer@apps.cabarrus.k12.nc.us.
